PEU Elects New National Office Bearers
The Professional Educators’ Union (PEU) is proud to announce the election of its new National Office Bearers at the Fourth Triennial Congress, held on 03 October 2025 at the Kopanong Hotel & Conference Centre in Benoni, Gauteng Province.
This landmark event marked a defining moment in the union’s history, bringing together educators, leaders and representatives from across the country and the SADC region to shape the direction of the union for the next 5 years. Delegates engaged in three days of vibrant discussions, policy reflection and collective decision-making under the banner of Strengthening Servant Leadership in pursuit of membership growth towards driving quality education for all.
Following the Congress proceedings, the following Office Bearers were elected to serve in PEU’s National Executive Commitee:
The newly elected office bearers brings a blend of experience, passion and commitment to advancing the interests of educators and ensuring that the voice of teachers continues to be heard in national education discourse.
In a remarkable achievement, PEU successfully reached the 40/60% gender equity target set by the 2024 Gender Conference, reflecting the union’s commitment to gender inclusivity and balanced representation in leadership. This milestone demonstrates the tangible progress being made towards promoting equity and diversity within the union’s structures.
As PEU enters this new chapter, the union remains steadfast in its mission to promote organisational discipline, professionalism, advocate for fair labour practices and empower its members through development, support and representation.

It was in deed a tremendous and fruitful experience gained at congress especially when coming to commissions.We gained a lot in terms of our roles at different districts and branches that what is mission of our union PEU. We now know what is expected of us at our different levels of offices.
